She has continued to be active at schools, visiting every school site this year, volunteering in classrooms, being a guest reader and science fair judge, and talking with administrators and staff to get a strong understanding of each school community.

She has been active in Santa Clara her entire adult life. Volunteering in her children's classrooms led to leadership roles in parent organizations and work as an elementary school substitute teacher in the Santa Clara Unified School District. She has been on the board of Sunnyvale Parent Preschool, Santa Clara Parents Nursery School and Washington Open Elementary School.  She has been an involved PTA member at Buchser Middle School and Santa Clara High School, and served two years on the school site council at Santa Clara High.  She is a founder and was a board member of the non-profit parent-driven advocacy group, Santa Clara Unified Parents. As a former software engineer and a strong advocate for STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education, she was the chairperson of Santa Clara Unified's district-wide science fair, bringing over 300 students and 100 volunteers together annually to celebrate scientific exploration.

She was honored to receive the PTA Council's Honorary Service Award for her years of service to the schools in Santa Clara Unified and the Marilyn Rea Volunteer of the Year award from Washington Open.  She was selected for the Junior League Volunteer Recognition Luncheon.

Jodi was born in Santa Clara and spent her first 8 years in the South Bay.  She lived with her family in Southeast Asia for 6 and a half years, before returning to the South Bay.  After graduating from college, she moved to Santa Clara to work in the high tech industry, developing software for several valley companies.

Jodi has been married for 31 years.  She and her husband have 25 year-old twins, a son and a daughter, and an 18 year-old daughter.  They are all graduates of Santa Clara High School.
