I want to update you on an important development in our School Board campaign. Incumbent School Board member, Ina Bendis, has filed a ballot statement lawsuit against me and an anonymous resident challenged my ballot designation with the Registrar of Voters.
This is hardball politics at its worst. In my view, Ina Bendis is trying to bully us into removing critical language about the Board’s performance and attempting to get us to spend precious campaign resources on legal fees.
Click here to see our press release with a statement from me and a summary of events. We released it today.
Thankfully, we already prevailed in the ballot designation challenge. According to the Registrar’s office, I provided the necessary documentation to ensure that my “Teacher/Parent” designation stayed on the ballot. Now a judge will rule on Bendis’ ballot statement lawsuit either Thursday or Friday. I have retained an attorney to help me during these proceedings and will let you know the outcome.
I knew this School Board race would be tough, and you have given me strength on the campaign trail. I ask you to keep standing with me by making a donation or volunteering to help during this critical time.
It’s clear the opposition will stop at nothing to maintain the status quo on the School Board. We know that can’t happen for our kids. Please help today.
Thank you for everything you’ve done for this campaign and for everything you’ve done for our schools.
